Michele Rosa Gee CD (DONA) Birth Doula Postpartum doula Massage Therapist LMBT #8686
I see birth as a spiritual event; I find it is a beautiful gift and honor to be able to enter the altered space that labor and birth often induce. Gently weaving my counseling, massage therapy, aromatherapy, yoga, and belly dance experience into the setting offers my clients the variety of coping techniques that are necessary for getting through the intense experience of birth. Not only do I bring my own nurturing wisdom and awareness, but I also possess a deep intuitive trust that supports a woman’s natural ability to bring her baby into the world. In human history, women have always supported other women during this meaningful rite of passage and thankfully our culture seems to be coming full circle – more and more people are remembering the benefit of this unique relationship. Every woman deserves to have a doula! I am passionate about supporting women to make choices that feel instinctively right for them during this transformational time. By encouraging healthy and clear communication among the entire birth team, by listening attentively and non-judgmentally to the mother’s verbal and non-verbal language, and by setting an intention to trust in the birth process, I help to create a sphere of safety that allows a mother to surrender deeply into her experience. Other parts of my life that are very alive and full include mothering my 3 active school-aged children, and nurturing all of my many interests including dance, music, yoga, walking in the woods, cooking, herbalism, knitting, meditating, and dreaming about a future where every woman feels in touch with her deepest creative energy! One birth at a time, we are creating the world we want our children to inherit. I feel truly blessed to be on this journey with each and every family I serve.
